Corrections
Technical reference material should be correctable. When a substantive error is confirmed, we update the affected page, rerun applicable calculations or diagram tests, and record the change here.
What counts as a correction
A correction is a change that affects technical meaning, compatibility, calculation, safety, diagnosis, source interpretation, or a reader’s likely decision. Quietly fixing punctuation or formatting is not a substantive correction.
Correction process
- Preserve the report and identify the exact disputed claim, example, or diagram.
- Recheck the applicable primary source, equipment revision, assumptions, and test fixture.
- Block or unpublish the affected material when the error could cause harm.
- Correct the page and its shared calculation or diagram data—not only the prose.
- Add a dated note below explaining what changed without exposing private reporter information.
