Corrections

Technical reference material should be correctable. When a substantive error is confirmed, we update the affected page, rerun applicable calculations or diagram tests, and record the change here.

What counts as a correction

A correction is a change that affects technical meaning, compatibility, calculation, safety, diagnosis, source interpretation, or a reader’s likely decision. Quietly fixing punctuation or formatting is not a substantive correction.

Correction process

  1. Preserve the report and identify the exact disputed claim, example, or diagram.
  2. Recheck the applicable primary source, equipment revision, assumptions, and test fixture.
  3. Block or unpublish the affected material when the error could cause harm.
  4. Correct the page and its shared calculation or diagram data—not only the prose.
  5. Add a dated note below explaining what changed without exposing private reporter information.
